1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 tsps baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup Steen's Pure Cane Syrup
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 eggs
1/4 tsp mace
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts


Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add syrup and eggs; beat well. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and spices; stir in raisins and nuts. Add to syrup mixture; blend well. Spread evenly in greased 12 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool; cut into squares.
