1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 cup wine
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 eggs
1 lb pecans, cut fine
2 cups flour, heaping
3/4 lb raisins
1/2 lb mixed cherries, citron, and pineapple
2 tsps soda
1 1/2 tbsps milk
1/2 tsp allspice
3 tbsps Steen's Pure Cane Syrup


Cream butter and sugar; add wine and eggs. Add gradually one half of the flour. Use rest of flour on fruit mixture. Add the spices. Mix all together; add soda dissolved in milk, add syrup and mix. Drop from spoon onto greased cooked sheet. Put pan of water under cookies and bake 15 to 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
